Conversation between a five year old and myself
5 year old: Jimmy is my friend and Chris and Emma.
Me: Do you have a boyfriend?
5 year old: When I grow up, I'm gonna have a girlfriend!
Me: *wiping tears of pride*
This is powerful, almost too powerful. How many of you feel hurt when you see this? How many of you feel sad for her or for people that will put her down for her body? Has society brainwashed us into making us believe this is “ugly” ? I don’t know the answers, but maybe this will make you think twice.
